The Kima Story

The Kima protocol defragments DeFi by providing an open infrastructure and building blocks for cross-chain apps: a robust technological infrastructure, pre-made functionality blocks, tokenomics and apps.

Blockchain protocols are siloed because of technical, financial and regulatory obstacles. As a result, DeFi is a collection of fragments: liquidity pools, options, vaults, strategies, future contracts – all of which are locked within the boundaries of the network and smart contracts. The result is poor user experience, limited functionality, insufficient liquidity and high costs.

To unlock value and increase adoption to reach a network effect, DeFi must become unfragmented. Services should be interoperable, interconnected (both cross-chain and off-chain), user-friendly and smart.

The People Behind Kima

Eitan Katz

Co-founder and CEO

From the forefront of the Israeli tech industry, Eitan left the comfortable corporate world to start building the future of decentralized and open finance. Having worked for companies like HP and BMC, Eitan began putting his experience in enterprise software to work on crypto in 2014 with Aegis, which was one of the first hardware wallets.

Today Eitan leads Kima into an interoperable web3 future, where liquidity flows freely between dApps on different chains.

Guy Vider

Co-founder and CTO

For over two and a half decades, Guy led development teams for numerous startups at the cutting edge of technology, and he has provided consulting services to Fortune 500 companies, including ADP, BMC, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and Fisker Automotive. During the last few years, Guy has primarily focused on disruptive technologies including fintech, blockchain, cryptography, and security.

Today, Guy leverages his extensive computer science and mathematics background to design and build Kima’s ironclad solutions.

Tzahi Kanza

Co-Founder and COO

Tzahi has been active in the blockchain space since 2013. True to his status as a pioneer in the industry, Tzahi founded Titanium Technologies, FutureBlock Ventures, the Alliance Institute, and several other tech startups, both within and outside of the web3 industry. Even after several successful exits, Tzahi chooses to invest time, passion, effort, and resources in Kima.

In addition to his experience, Tzahi takes pride in his broad education, holding several degrees in Law, Economics and Business.

Mr. Rubin is an expert in ML, Data Science and algorithms. He specializes in sophisticated ML-based financial and trading systems.

Prof. Zvika Afik

Prof. Afik specializes in finance with a focus on financial derivatives, risk management and hedging.

Prof. Lyandres specializes in finance and is the head of the Blockchain Research Institute at Tel Aviv University.

Prof. Brett Hemenway Falk

Prof. Falk is a research professor at the University of Pennsylvania. He focuses on blockchain, cryptography, coding theory and network analysis.
